Authoring Tools.
If you are looking for tools to author your DVD or Blu-ray project, here are some we recommend:
- - Apple
DVD Studio Pro is Apple's professional-level tool. Extremely powerful and feature-rich, it is the de facto standard for professional DVD creation on the Mac -- but has a steeper learning curve than iDVD.
- Scenarist - Sonic Solutions
Sonic Scenarist brings Scenarist SD's proven performance and reliability to Blu-ray Disc, providing a comprehensive, professional authoring solution for the next generation of optical media.
- Blu-print - SONY
Blu-print is the optimal solution for Blu-ray disc authoring. It is designed for professional high-volume production. The application provides flexibility to achieve complex authoring scenarios with great intuition for the novice and the expert user.
- - Apple
iDVD is Apple's entry-level DVD creation tool. It is included with all Macintosh systems which ship with a SuperDrive, and makes it incredibly easy to produce amazing results
- DVDit - Roxio
DVDit is Roxio's midrange tool, a logical upgrade from MyDVD. It allows you to create professional quality DVDs on your PC using your existing avi files and MPEG files, and digital stills.
- DVDit Pro HD - Roxio
We love this new version of DVDit! which now allows users to produce Blu ray replication masters (CMF filesets) for a fraction of the cost of other Blu ray Authoring tools. While it will not have overlay, BD-Live or Java support available, it is capable of producing replication masters for both BD-25 and BD-50.
- - Adobe
"Import and convert source files automatically to MPEG-2 video and Dolby? Digital audio. Create and edit menus in Adobe Photoshop? format using a flexible interface and a comprehensive set of menu design tools."
