Pacificdisc now offers Eco-Friendly CD & DVD packaging options for those customers interested in minimizing the impact of manufacturing.

(PRWEB) "Earth Day - April 22nd, 2008 -- Pacificdisc, the pioneers of Demystifying DVD Replication™, today announced the launch of a new service called EcoDiscs - dedicated to offering greener choices to independent producers interested in CD & DVD replication.

“Today is Earth Day 2008, a day when we are all reminded of the truly fragile state of our planet, I am thrilled to be able to announce EcoDiscs. a new service specifically designed to offer our customers more ecologically sound choices for packaging their CDs and DVDs”, said Morris Anderson, President and co-founder of Pacificdisc. “We have started to offer wallets, sleeves, wraps and DigiPaks made from at least 20% recycled cardboard stock, vegatable-based inks and now offer the ability to offset the carbon footprint created during manufacturing with a partnership with Carbonfund.org"carbon emissions

While CDs and DVDs cannot be made from anything other than optical grade polycarbonate, which is a petroleum product. A customer now has a wider selection of packaging options to minimize VOC emissions, support sustainable foresting practices and offset their carbon emissions.

PacificDisc now offers customers the option of donating an additional $0.01/disc, which is then passed onto Carbonfund.org. They in turn support three main types of carbon offset projects: renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation. Each one of which plays an important role in the important fight against climate change.

"PacificDisc's customers are very concerned about their environmental impact", continues Morris Anderson. "One of the ways PacificDisc addresses this concern is by reducing its own carbon footprint. This partnership with Carbonfund.org also allows PacificDisc to reduce its carbon footprint by offsetting the emissions generated as a result of the creation and delivery of printed materials. While PacificDisc has done everything possible to reduce the environmental impact of its internal operations, Carbonfund.org helps us to minimize the additional impact of replication".
